Say hello to my leetle friend!

Say hello to my leetle friend!, originally uploaded by lotymor.

This pic was taken last weekend at Asan Park. Tyler found a cool looking shell and decided to pick it up. Little did he know that it was the home of our new friend, Hermie. When Hermie came out to say hello Tyler dropped him in a flash! Poor Hermie!

Oops

Sorry about the drop down menu fiasco. I just realized that I’m the only one that can see it on my main blog page for some odd reason. I wonder if there is someway to receive an email when the blog is updated.

I’m looking forward to my upcoming trip to Hawaii. I would really like to find some of the spots where they film my fav show, Lost. I’m also looking forward to seeing some REAL american stores like Old Navy and Walmart. I’ve been having an awfully hard time trying to find some decent clothes for the boys here. Logan is in need of some nice church clothes as well as playclothes and Ty just needs some playclothes. I can’t see myself spending $25 on a shirt which is pretty much the cost for things out here. I’m hoping to find some good outlets or something in HI so I can stock up on some clothes. Poor Ty has nasty looking hand me downs because my lil Logan isn’t exactly the cleanest eater. ;-)

Another trip we are planning now is a trip to Korea next month with our neighbors. I’ve heard there is some killer shopping there so I’ll be taking orders for Coach purses when you all are ready! ;-P

Did you know…..

January 16, 2007 by tylomo

that you can subscribe to my blog? If I’m correct, if you subscribe to it you will be notified each time I add some fresh new “blog thoughts” to my page. Now I know you are all excited for that!!! ;-P By clicking on the drop down arrow next to “Blog Info” on the top right corner of this page there is an option to subscribe.

Another FYI about this blog that I’m learning…. you can view ALL the pictures that I’ve added to the site by clicking on the flickr photos on the right hand side. I can only stick a few on this page so I store the rest of them on Flickr. The link didn’t work before but I believe it is up and running now. I have well over a hundred photos so far.

One more thing…..leave me some comments! I want some positive confirmation people!! This blog is designed to be a window to my life, to monitor my comings and goings, my many adventures on Guam BUT I want to hear from you guys too! Or else it’s just weird, posting pics of myself for every stranger to look at! haha!

I miss you all dearly. I had a downer day today thinking about home. Sometimes I wish I were back in my house in Swansboro going to my awesome church, hanging with my family and friends. Love you all!

Look close…a monitor lizard!

Look close…a monitor lizard!, originally uploaded by lotymor.

We saw two of these on our way out from the cave. We were warned to steer clear of them because they have razor sharp tails and they will whip you with them if threatened. The second one we saw scurried straight up the side of a cliff! I had no idea that they could do that. It was amazing! Also on our journey out we saw several baby boars running across the road. I didn’t get a pic but it was probably a good thing I didn’t try….where there’s a baby, there’s a mama!

Uh, should I try this?

Uh, should I try this?, originally uploaded by lotymor.

This pic was taken at Faifai beach. I went back there to show the Brown’s. We ended up hanging out on the beach for a bit and were lucky enough to see some locals come by with a machetti (sp?). One of them scurried up a palm tree and knocked down some coconuts. The other cut one open for us to try. It was pretty cool. I have several pics of it on my flickr page. Oh and if you look closely at this one you can see a spider (one of the smaller ones on island) on my sleeve next to the red spot. After this pic was taken I was doing the freaking out spider dance!

hiking down to Marbo cave

hiking down, originally uploaded by lotymor.

This is the mouth of the cave. I took the pic from the bottom looking up. It doesn’t look it but it was pretty steep. Once at the bottom it opened up to this big freshwater pool that we swam in. There was also another room that you could swim into underneath a space in the rock. The room wasn’t very big but it was neat. This hike only took us about 5-10 minutes. I felt sort of cheated because I didn’t really “work” for it!

The mermaids

This has to be one of the coolest experiences I’ve had on Guam! How many people can say that they have swam in an underground pool? The water was a little chilly but you got used to it right away. There was some deep spots but the water was so clear that you could see to the bottom. We are sitting on a rock in the middle of it and right in front of us it dropped down. To the left of the pic (can’t see in this one) were big boulders that the girls jumped off of. Check out the other photos in flickr to see them.

Looking down on series of pools

Looking down on series of pools, originally uploaded by lotymor.

This was a hike we did last weekend called Priest’s Pools. It was a little over a half a mile round trip and it looked as if we were going through someone’s backyard a the beginning of it. Chris and I both had a couple of spills on the way there because it had rained and the grass was slick along with the mud. We were not able to explore too much because it was rather steep and we had the kids with us. I think we will go back again though. It’s definitely worth the trip again.

Logan

January 8, 2007 by tylomo

I signed Logan up for gymnastics yesterday since he usually is doing somersaults off the couch.  It was a last minute thing too. At 3pm I called to find out what programs are starting and the woman told me that gymnastics is starting and there are only two spots left but it starts in an hour and I have to go to a specific office to register him first! AAHH!!! So I piled the boys in the car, raced over to the MWR office and had careen over several steps with the stroller, run to the door and fill out the form. Once that was finished I had 15 minutes left to spare. Guess I didn’t need to rush!  Anyhow, Logan LOVED it! He was so excited to play with other kids and bounce around with them. He had a blast on the trampoline and he did a backwards somersault like a pro! There is one boy in his class and he just happens to be a friend from his school (when he was going). They were inseperable, showing each other tricks that they can do. It was a lot of fun to watch him have so much fun. He kept looking over at me with a huge grin and giving me the thumbs up. Unfortunately I do not have any pics of it but it is a weekly thing so I will plan on taking some to post on here.
